6 Proven Ways to Make Rewards Meaningful And Effective
✨A Daily Affair✨
No matter how much time or money you invest in rewards and recognition, you may not see the desired results if negative reinforcement is used more often.
✨ Valuable ✨
The dollar amount or words don’t matter as much as their meaning to the student. Rewards like stickers or pizza are only valuable when they are tied to an accomplishment that makes the student feel proud and recognized.
✨ Reward, w/ a side of celebration 🎉
Reframe from just ‘giving an incentive’—
Ask the student to recall what they did to earn the incentive , then use the exchange of the reward as an opportunity to celebrate the student’s accomplishment. 🎉
✨ Be Kind, Remind ✨
Rewards like stickers and games are often short-lived and quickly forgotten - memory is fleeting! It’s essential to consistently refresh students’ understanding that performance leads to pride (and fun things)!
✨ Earned ✨
A clear and direct connection between performance and reward or recognition must be established and communicated.

✨Bridge The Gap✨
Bridge the gap between immediate and delayed consequences ➡️
